Breakout Escape Room – Who Participates?

In the magic forest

Usually lasting about 60 minutes, escape room games have become a preferred alternative of entertainment for people of all ages, including couples, groups of family and friends, work peers, and have even been used by companies as part of their team building programs.

With the rising popularity of escape rooms, it’s no wonder that an increasing number of people are interested in spending an hour of their time breaking out of their daily routine, so who are the players mostly inclined to support puzzle room endeavors?

Game restrictions

Generally speaking, escape room providers welcome the participation of people of all ages. However, some restrictions apply, concerning very small children, claustrophobic people, pregnant women or persons suffering from cardiovascular disease. It is recommended that kids and young teens are accompanied in the room by adults, as they may need assistance in dissecting their surroundings and solving the puzzles.

A fun alternative to date night

Couples have often been seen stepping into a game escape room holding hands. This type of adventure is perceived by many as a great alternative to the ubiquitous dinners, afternoon strolls or cinema nights as it offers couples the opportunity to learn more about their significant other, take on fun new challenges and build lasting memories in the process. It also makes a great startup for dating couples as the pair welcomes an unfamiliar setting as a new way of checking relationship compatibility, building trust and exploring the different facets of one another.

Family bonding

Family gatherings can sometimes be a bit dull for the youngsters or even slightly awkward for the grownups. Why not overcome these generation gaps by participating in an escape room game and working together towards meeting the same goal? It’s a fun activity for parents, children and grandparents alike, and a hilarious way of taking up roleplaying. It is also great for sharing stories with the rest of the family members who couldn’t join in!

Fun with the gang

Outgoing people are constantly in the search for new ways of having fun with their friends. Their favorite entertainment venues can only offer so much in terms of new levels of excitement, so many groups are on the lookout for ideas that could break out their weekend routine. A real escape room provides an adventure to look forward to by all members of the group, from the thrill seekers to the avid gamers, from the extraverts to the introverts, from the goofballs to the quiet ones.

Corporate teamwork

The nine-to-fivers often feel like they’re losing individuality working in a corporate environment. These people need a way to boost their morale, improve communication with their peers, feel better motivated to meet and/or exceed expectations and achieve results they can be proud of at the end of the day. In the attempt to ensure such changes are made, companies encourage employees to partake in various team building activities, which sometimes can be boring and unsuccessful.

A proven way of enhancing productivity and improve interaction between coworkers is through game escape team building activities which are not only fun and challenging on an individual scale but equally entertaining and thought-provoking on a collective level. Furthermore, corporate participants from different departments that don’t usually interact can be brought together and get the opportunity to form relationships that can be beneficial for them, as well as for the overall company integration status.
